We are headed into another 1930s like depression

At least that is what 53% of the people surveyed by Rasmussen believe. I'm actually surprised the number wasn't higher especially with the way the stock market has responded to Obama's "stimulus" package.

Most Americans (53%) now think the United States is at least somewhat likely to enter a 1930’s-like depression within the next few years.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 39% think this outcome is unlikely.

Nineteen percent (19%) say a Depression is Very Likely while 7% say it is not at all likely.

But of course Pelosi is open to another stimulus package because the 1st two have worked so well.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she is open to introducing a second stimulus bill, but it's too early to determine the size of such a package and the timing on another major economic measure.

“We have to keep the door open to see how it goes,” Pelosi told reporters Tuesday following a House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee hearing on the economy.

But Pelosi said she wanted to give the $787 billion stimulus package passed last month time to work before she starts making promises on a second stimulus. Pelosi also accused the Washington media and cable news establishment of taking an overly critical approach toward the first stimulus — and expecting too much too soon.
Unfortunately the Republicans don't have enough representation to block any of these bills. And the more the government tries to solve all the problems we are facing the worst it will get. It has been proven over and over again in many different countries, including our own, socialism doesn't work. Yet these liberals keep on trying to shove it down our throat.

The only way we are going to get out of the mess we are in is to let the market run its course along with tax cuts to stimulate the economy. Government spending only makes things worse. The only reason the Democrats keep this up is for more power. FDR's new deal kept the Democrats in power for 50+ years. And LBJ's "great society" kept the Democrats in power for many more years. Not because they helped but because it kept more people dependent on the government. And once that happens people will keep on voting for what is feeding them.
